The British art of excellence that doesn't boast

There are two ways to make a great car: shout about its performance or let it speak for itself. Aston Martin has always chosen the latter. Since 1913, the British brand has been producing automobiles that combine power, elegance, and character with a rare consistency in the global automotive industry.

110 years of British excellence

Founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, Aston Martin has navigated bankruptcies, wars, and buyouts to become one of the most coveted automotive brands in the world.

Aston Martin's history is a lesson in resilience. The brand has repeatedly faced near-extinction, changed hands more than once, and almost been absorbed by industrial conglomerates. Yet, it remains, in Gaydon, Warwickshire, hand-producing cars using artisanal methods that the automotive industry largely abandoned long ago.

The name comes from Aston Clinton Hill, where Lionel Martin participated in hill climbs at the beginning of the century. This link between the founder, racing, and the geographical territory has defined the brand's DNA forever: Aston Martin is inseparable from competition, even when producing grand tourers.

The cars that made history

A few models that have defined what it means to be Aston Martin in different eras.

❖ 1963

DB5: The Immortal

Made famous by James Bond in Goldfinger in 1964, the DB5 is probably the most iconic car in cinema history and British automotive. Its sleek profile, 4.0-liter inline-six engine, and leather interior remained the benchmark of sporting elegance for decades. Some examples still sell for astronomical prices today.

❖ 1977

V8 Vantage: Quiet Strength

With its 5.3-liter V8, the 1977 Vantage was Europe's fastest production car upon its release. It reached 280 km/h without fanfare, in a relative silence that was part of its sophistication. A supercar that behaved like a gentleman.

❖ 2001

Vanquish: The Revival

Designed by Ian Callum, the 2001 Vanquish marked Aston Martin's revival in the Ford era. Its 460 hp V12 and taut lines announced a brand that had become technically credible again while remaining true to its distinctive aesthetic.

Back on track

After a long absence from Formula 1, Aston Martin returned to the starting grids in 2021 with its own team.

The Aston Martin F1 Team

In 2021, the team formerly known as Racing Point rebranded as Aston Martin F1 Team. With Sebastian Vettel spearheading its debut, the team immediately gained global visibility. Based in Silverstone, it has since invested heavily in its facilities and development.

Excellence that doesn't boast

Aston Martin and specialty coffee share a common philosophy: excellence shouldn't need to justify itself.

Craftsmanship as a deliberate choice

Aston Martin hand-assembles its cars, with manufacturing times that defy modern industrial logic. A barista who grinds to the precise gram and times their extraction shares this same philosophy: you can do it quickly or you can do it well. We choose well.

Power, Beauty, Soul — and a coffee

The Carrera Café universe pays homage to brands that have chosen excellence as their sole signature. Come and share this passion in Petit-Champlain.
