Aston Martin

The British art of excellence that doesn’t boast

There are two ways to make a great car: shout about its performance or let it speak for itself. Aston Martin has always chosen the second path. Since 1913, the British brand has produced automobiles that combine power, elegance, and character with a rare consistency in the global automotive industry.

110 years of British excellence

Founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, Aston Martin has survived bankruptcies, wars, and takeovers to become one of the most desired car brands in the world.

Aston Martin's history is a lesson in resilience. The brand has come close to disappearing several times, changed hands more than once, and nearly been absorbed by industrial conglomerates. Yet, it is still here, in Gaydon, Warwickshire, producing cars by hand using artisanal methods that the automotive industry abandoned long ago.

The name comes from Aston Clinton hill, where Lionel Martin participated in hill climbs at the beginning of the century. This link between the founder, racing, and the geographical area has defined the brand's DNA forever: Aston Martin is inseparable from competition, even when producing grand tourers.

The cars that made history

Some models that have defined what it means to be Aston Martin at different times.

❖ 1963

DB5: the immortal

Made famous by James Bond in Goldfinger in 1964, the DB5 is probably the most iconic car in the history of cinema and British automobiles. Its sleek profile, 4.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine, and leather interior have remained the benchmark of sporty elegance for decades. Some models are still sold for a fortune today.

❖ 1977

V8 Vantage: the quiet strength

With its 5.3-liter V8, the 1977 Vantage was the fastest production car in Europe at its launch. It reached 280 km/h without warning, in a relative silence that was part of its sophistication. A supercar that behaved like a gentleman.

❖ 2001

Vanquish: the renewal

Designed by Ian Callum, the 2001 Vanquish marked Aston Martin’s renewal in the Ford era. Its 460 hp V12 and taut lines like a bow announced a brand that had become technically credible again while remaining true to its distinctive aesthetic.

The return to the track

After a long absence from Formula 1, Aston Martin returned to the starting grids in 2021 with its own team.

The Aston Martin F1 Team stable

In 2021, the team formerly known as Racing Point renamed itself Aston Martin F1 Team. With Sebastian Vettel as the spearhead during its debut, the team immediately gained worldwide visibility. Based in Silverstone, it has since heavily invested in its facilities and development.

Excellence that does not boast

Aston Martin and specialty coffee share a common philosophy: excellence should not need to justify itself.

Craftsmanship as a deliberate choice

Aston Martin assembles its cars by hand, with manufacturing times that defy modern industrial logic. A barista who calibrates their grind to the gram and times their extraction shares the same philosophy: you can do it fast or you can do it well. We choose well.

Power, Beauty, Soul — and a coffee

The Carrera Café universe pays tribute to brands that have chosen excellence as their only signature. Come share this passion in Petit-Champlain.
