our story

In the heart of Old Quebec , in the historic Petit Champlain district, Carrera Café draws inspiration from the great legends of motorsports. It's also a nod to all those who share our passion for engines. Here, every coffee, every sandwich, and every cocktail pays homage to the races and drivers who thrilled our childhoods.

The name Carrera comes from the legendary Carrera Panamericana of the 1950s, a symbol of speed, precision, and passion. It's also the name of our signature sandwich, inspired by the daring of this race and our local flavors. We think of Ayrton Senna, who transformed Monaco into a work of art. Of Gilles Villeneuve, our Canadian hero, the embodiment of courage and audacity. Of Niki Lauda, a symbol of resilience and determination. Of Kimi Räikkönen, master of composure behind the wheel. And of Steve McQueen, whose passion for Le Mans cemented this mythical race into legend.

These references also evoke the spirit of camaraderie within the motorsport world, built on passion and challenges. And the legendary circuits remain very much alive in the collective imagination: the 24 Hours of Le Mans and its endless endurance, Monaco and its precision, the Nürburgring where legends are forged, or the Indianapolis 500 , where everything can change in an instant.

Like a racing team preparing its strategy, our sandwiches are made with precision and creativity. And our cocktails evoke the atmosphere of the paddocks, where victories are celebrated with champagne. Carrera Café is a nod to the world of racing, but above all, a place to meet up, share, and have fun with friends.
