A mixology training designed for the field
The Carrera Café offers a mixology training program in Quebec, delivered by our team in the heart of Petit-Champlain. Designed to equip bartenders, restaurant professionals, and enthusiasts, this training imparts the essential skills to master the art of the cocktail, solid technical foundations, classic repertoire, flavor balance, and efficiency behind the bar. Our teaching approach is rooted in real practice, with trainers who work daily behind our bar and pass on living expertise.
The fundamentals of modern mixology
Our program covers the essential foundations of mixology, knowledge of the major spirit families (gin, vodka, rum, whisky, tequila, liqueurs), classic cocktails (Old Fashioned, Negroni, Daiquiri, Martini, Manhattan and their variations), and understanding the balance between sugar, acidity, bitterness, and alcohol. Each participant learns to read a recipe, understand it, execute it precisely, and use it as inspiration to develop their own creations.
Technique in the service of consistency
A good bartender is not only creative, but above all consistent. That’s why our training dedicates a large part to preparation techniques, shaking (dry shake, wet shake, reverse shake), stirring (classic technique for spirit-only cocktails), and building (direct preparation in the glass). We also work on gestures, ice preparation, glass service, setup, and bar organization. The goal is that every cocktail you serve is identical to the previous one, no matter the time or fatigue.

Our mixology program offers several flexible formats to suit your needs. Individually or in small groups, for personalized learning. In-house training for companies, restaurants, and hotels that want to standardize their bar team’s standards. And targeted workshops for those who want to deepen a specific aspect like classic cocktails or spirit infusions. Content, durations, and rates are tailored to each request.
