Brunch Quebec historic district: late breakfast at Carrera Cafe
Brunch is Sunday morning’s race. You take your time, but don’t miss any turns. At Carrera Cafe, late breakfast is a Petit-Champlain institution.
The Carrera Brunch
Late Breakfast in Petit-Champlain
Not too early, not too late. Brunch time at Carrera is whenever you choose. The kitchen is ready when you are.
At Carrera Cafe, brunch is the slow version of our menu. No rush, no timed service. You settle in, order, and come back. The products are the same as during the week: organic Charlevoix charcuterie, Quebec cheeses, bread from Boulangerie Borderon et Fils. The difference: morning sun, a table by the window, and a latte that takes its time.
The Brunch Menu
Plates & Boards
A short menu that goes straight to the point. Each plate is designed for a long morning.
Brunch Board - Charcuterie & Cheeses
Cured ham, dry sausage, local cheeses, warm bread, homemade jams. The board that turns a brunch into an experience. To share or enjoy alone, depending on your Sunday mood.
Morning Focaccia - Borderon et Fils
Olive oil spread, fresh cheese, seasonal herbs. The morning toast revisited in an Italian version. Crispy, generous, satisfying.
Quebec Cheese Platter
Selection of 3 to 4 aged cheeses, honey, walnuts, compote. The version without charcuterie, with just as much character. For mornings when you prefer calm over strong flavors.
Brunch Drinks
Coffee, Latte & Juice
A brunch without good coffee is like a circuit without mechanics. Here, both are taken seriously.
Morning Latte - Slow Race
Double espresso, textured milk, served hot. Creamy, balanced, smooth. The latte that accompanies an hour of brunch without ever being forgotten. Neither too much nor too little.
Iced Latte - Weekend Version
In summer, brunch on the terrace automatically calls for an iced latte. Espresso over cold milk, crushed ice. Instantly summery, immediately perfect.
For brunch: start with a simple espresso. It wakes you up. Then move on to the latte. It accompanies. Finish with a ristretto if your eyes start to close. Carrera has handled tough mornings since its creation.
The Historic District in the Morning
Petit-Champlain & Old Quebec
Petit-Champlain in the morning is the circuit before the spectators. Quiet, beautiful, yours.
Old Quebec on Saturday or Sunday morning, before 10am, is a privilege. The cobblestone alleys of Petit-Champlain are almost deserted. The light is soft, art galleries start to open, vendors set up their stalls. And Carrera is already open, the espresso is ready.
Arrive at Carrera at 9:30am. Order the board and a latte. Eat slowly. Leave around 11am for a stroll through the alleys. Return before the tourists arrive in droves. You had the best of Petit-Champlain before everyone else.
