Italian coffee in Quebec: what makes Carrera Café unique
There are cafés that serve coffee. And then there is Carrera Café: a universe apart, built on Italian excellence, local Quebec products, and passion of car racing. An address unlike any other in all of Old Quebec.
Our identity
Where the Carrera Café concept comes from
An Italian coffee with a car racing universe, local Quebec products, in Quebec’s historic district.
L'idée de départ: Québec méritait un café qui combine l'excellence italienne avec the local Quebec terroir, in a setting that tells a story. Not a generic coffee. Something deeply rooted in its place, all while carrying an international ambition.
Car racing came naturally. Milanese espresso, precision, la vitesse d'exécution, l'excellence comme seule exigence: les mêmes valeurs qui animent a Formula 1 stable are those of a great coffee.
★ Our mission
Create the best coffee in Old Quebec with local products, in a setting that transports. Every visit to Carrera must be an experience, not just a coffee break.
The Carrera difference
5 reasons that make us a unique address
Quebec has great cafés. Carrera Café is one, but for very specific reasons.
The coffee
Espresso extracted by the second, local milk textured to perfection. Italian technique, here.
The local
Charlevoix, Quebec, Borderon and Sons: our suppliers are our neighbors.
The universe
Car racing is not just a backdrop. It is a philosophy. Precision, excellence, passion.
The place
Petit-Champlain deserves a unique address. We are here, and we are staying.
The total experience
From bean to glass, from the board to the cocktail, from aesthetics to hospitality. It is their combination that creates something unique. That is the Carrera difference.
Our approach to coffee
The Italian philosophy applied to Quebec
In Italy, coffee is a serious matter. At Carrera, we took it even more seriously.
La culture italienne du café repose sur quelques principes absolus: des grains de qualité, a precise extraction, impeccably textured milk. These principles do not tolerate compromise.
Our baristas are trained in the Italian technique: extraction at 93°C, 25 to 30 seconds, crema dense et persistante. Le lait entier local est texturé à 65°C maximum pour préserver its proteins and create that silky texture that makes the difference.
The demands of the Carrera barista
Timed extraction, controlled milk temperature, freshly ground beans with every order. It's not perfection for perfection's sake. It's respect for the customer.
Local at heart
Our exceptional Quebec suppliers
What is on our plates and in our glasses comes from here. It is a deliberate choice.
Organic Charcuterie from Charlevoix
Organic farming, artisanal know-how. Our boards owe their reputation to them.
Aged cheeses from Quebec
Quebec cheesemaking has reached a world-class level of excellence. Our cheeses are selected for their complexity and terroir.
Borderon and Sons Bakery
Our bakery partner since day one. Borderon focaccia has become inseparable from Carrera's identity. Crispy, oily, fragrant.
The motorsport universe
When car racing meets coffee
Ferrari, Grand Prix, podium, pit stop: our vocabulary says it all about our philosophy.
What does Formula 1 have to do with coffee? Everything. The precision of the gesture, the obsession with detail, the constant race for excellence, the refusal of compromise. A barista who pulls a perfect espresso and a mechanic who tune a suspension share the same demand.
❖ The Carrera paddock
Behind every cup, there is a team. Baristas, cooks, servers: Like in racing, everyone serves the same goal. To offer you the best experience, every visit, without exception.
