Petit-Champlain & Vieux-Québec
The Quebec Funicular: history and unique experience between Upper and Lower Town
The Old Quebec Funicular is one of the city’s most iconic attractions. Complete guide with Carrera Café at Petit-Champlain as the arrival destination.
The Funicular: an attraction in itself
Inaugurated in 1879, the Old Quebec Funicular is one of the oldest still operating in North America. It connects Terrasse Dufferin in the Upper Town to Petit-Champlain in the Lower Town, with a spectacular view of the Saint Lawrence River during the ride.
For children, it’s an attraction in itself. For adults, it’s the perfect transition between two worlds. For everyone: it’s the most elegant way to descend to Carrera Café.
