Quebec Marathon: race, panoramas, and stopover at Carrera Café
The Quebec Marathon is one of the most picturesque sporting events in Canada. Thousands of runners cross Old Quebec, the Plains of Abraham, and the banks of the Saint Lawrence. And before or after the race, the Carrera Café awaits you.
The Marathon
An exceptional sporting event
Created in 1985, the Quebec Marathon gathers thousands of participants from around the world each year. Its course is one of the most beautiful and technical in Canada.
The fortified city marathon
The Quebec Marathon takes place every autumn, usually in September or October, when the colors of the trees are at their best. Runners cross the paved Old Quebec, the Plains of Abraham, and historic neighborhoods in a setting like no other.
A sporting and cultural event
The Quebec Marathon is as much a sporting event as a popular festival. Spectators, music, entertainment, and good cheer along the course. The entire city transforms into a circuit over the weekend.
The Course
One of the most beautiful circuits
The Quebec Marathon course crosses several historic neighborhoods of the city and offers spectacular views of the Saint Lawrence and the Laurentians.
Place D'Youville
The start of the main races takes place in the heart of Old Quebec. A starting line in an exceptional historic setting.
The Plains of Abraham
The passage through the Plains of Abraham is the most spectacular part of the course. View of the river, wide horizon, gently rolling terrain.
The banks of the Saint Lawrence
The riverfront offers a magnificent panoramic view. In autumn, the colors of the trees reflect in the Saint Lawrence River.
Petit-Champlain
The finish in the Lower Town is an emotional moment. Cheering crowds, photographs, medals. And the Carrera Café just steps away for the celebration.
Race Formats
For all levels
The Quebec Marathon offers several formats suitable for all runners. From the 5 km discovery run to the full marathon, there is something for every level.
Available distances
5 km, 10 km, half-marathon (21.1 km) and full marathon (42.2 km). Each format offers a tailored course and the full Quebec Marathon experience.
