History of the Plains

On September 13, 1759, the Battle of the Plains of Abraham sealed the fate of New France. Today, this memorial site has become Quebec City's largest urban park.

The concert season
July and August, the Plains come alive with the Summer Festival. Hundreds of thousands of people gather here. Night concerts, daytime entertainment, terraces everywhere.
The golden season
October, the trees of the Plains blaze in red and orange. The contrast with the blue of the St. Lawrence is striking. Tourists have left, calm returns. It's the best time.
The Carnival season
In February, the Plains host the Carnival festivities. Ice sculptures, tobogganing, campfires. The place transforms into a spectacular winter playground.
The awakening of the park
April, the first flowers bloom on the slopes of Cap Diamant. Joggers return, dogs trot, benches fill up again. Quebec breathes anew.

The National Museum of the Plains of Abraham traces the history of the site with immersive exhibitions. A visit that gives meaning to the walk.
The Odyssey guided tour
The audiovisual tour Odyssey immerses visitors in the 1759 battle and the history of the Plains. A sound and light show in a circular theater, presented in French and English. Duration: approximately 30 minutes.
