The Petit-Champlain neighborhood stretches along Cap Diamant, between the Upper Town cliff and the banks of the Saint Lawrence. Its cobblestone alleys, half-timbered houses, and flowered courtyards make it one of the most photographed places in Canada.

Art galleries, craft shops, quality souvenir merchants. Take the time to stop. The main street of the neighborhood deserves a leisurely stroll.
Place Royale
The historic heart of New France. The Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church, 17th-century stone houses. A place full of history, just steps from Carrera.

Each season gives a different personality to the neighborhood. Here’s what awaits you.
June to September
The neighborhood is at its busiest. Terraces everywhere, pedestrian streets, street artists. Our terrace is open with iced latte and cocktails. The reference season for a first visit.
September to November
The neighborhood empties of summer tourists. Autumn colors on the stone facades. The most local atmosphere of the year. Our mulled wine arrives as early as October.
December to March
Petit-Champlain under snow is a postcard. Quebec Carnival, Christmas market, lights everywhere. Our room and mulled wine are the ideal refuge.
April to June
The city emerges from winter. The neighborhood gradually comes back to life. The first terraces appear. Our iced latte returns as soon as the thermometer passes 15°C.
Our practical advice
Visit Petit-Champlain like a pro
Some tips to enjoy the neighborhood without the usual pitfalls.
❖ Tip 1: timing
Avoid the neighborhood between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in July-August. The crowd is at its peak and the experience is diminished. Arrive early in the morning or after 4 p.m. to experience the neighborhood at its best.
Tip 2: shoes
The streets are cobblestone. Avoid high heels and thin sandals. Comfortable shoes are essential to fully enjoy the neighborhood.
Tip 3: reservation
In high season (July-August) and during the Carnival, reserve your table at Carrera for the aperitif. Terrace seats go fast, especially for the sunset.
