Petit-Champlain & Old Quebec
Old Quebec terrace: the best places to drink coffee outdoors
When summer settles in Old Quebec, terraces open and the air smells of hot coffee. Guide to the best spots, with a special mention for Carrera Café at Petit-Champlain.
The terraces of Old Quebec
A unique experience
There is something almost unreal about drinking coffee on a terrace in Old Quebec in summer. The stone walls of the Lower Town, the comings and goings of tourists, the sun beating down on the cobblestones. It’s a living postcard.
Petit-Champlain alone concentrates some of the most beautiful terraces in the city. Narrow, intimate, often flowery, they offer a setting that the main streets cannot reproduce.
This is where Carrera Café chose to settle. Not by chance.
The Carrera Café terrace
Our favorite at Petit-Champlain
The Carrera Café terrace is the kind of place where you order an iced latte and end up staying for two hours. A few well-placed tables, a view of Rue du Petit-Champlain, and a team that understands service must be just as impeccable outside as inside.
