A Perfect Day in Old Quebec
From the first espresso of the morning to the last drink of the evening. Old Quebec, built around its addresses and rituals.
8 AM — Starting Point ★
Morning Espresso — Carrera Café
The machine is hot, the beans are fresh, the first cup is always the best. Petit Champlain Street at this hour has something special: calm, bright, almost suspended. It’s the moment to sit down and plan what’s next.
9 AM–11 AM
Strolling in the Neighborhood
The alleys of Petit Champlain, Place Royale, the Saint Lawrence riverbank. The neighborhood is best discovered on foot, without a schedule. Artisan shops open gradually. So do the galleries.
11 AM–2 PM
Ascent to Upper Town
The funicular or the Breakneck Stairs. The Dufferin Terrace, Château Frontenac, the citadel, the ramparts. Old Quebec within the walls is ideally explored in the morning, before the crowds.
3 PM — Return to Petit Champlain ★
Afternoon Coffee
At Carrera Café, an iced latte or a cold brew in summer, a hot cappuccino when temperatures drop. The afternoon coffee is different from the morning one: more relaxed, more reflective.
7 PM
Gourmet Dinner
To end the day beautifully, Old Quebec offers some dining spots worth lingering at. Menus that change with the seasons, quality local products, an atmosphere that matches the city: refined but not stuffy.
