Ayrton Senna da Silva was born in São Paulo in 1960 into a wealthy family. His story with motorsport began as it does for most great drivers: with karting, from childhood, with an intensity that surprised everyone around him. At 13, he was already beating experienced adults.

He arrived in Formula 1 in 1984 with Toleman, a small team, and immediately impressed with his ability to extract the maximum from a car inferior to the best. This is already the Senna signature: the driver who makes the difference where others see a limit.

If Senna had a favorite playground, it was Monaco. The street circuit, the narrowest, least forgiving, and most technical of the season: Senna won victories there, some of which are still studied in automotive engineering schools. His 1988 pole position, more than 1.4 seconds ahead of the second place, remains one of the most extraordinary performances in F1 history.
