CHARLEVOIX TO QUEBEC: THE ROUTE OF FLAVORS
April 2026 · 6 min read · Carrera Café · All seasons
Charlevoix and Quebec are separated by 100 kilometers. On this road, time contracts. The cliffs, the river, the perched villages: every turn is a reason to slow down.
MORNING: LEAVING CHARLEVOIX VIA 138
Start from Baie-Saint-Paul or La Malbaie. Route 138 runs along the Saint Lawrence almost without interruption. Stop at Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive: the dock is worth the detour to look out over the river, wide and calm, before continuing the road to Quebec.
MUST-STOP STOPS
Fromagerie Charlevoix in Baie-Saint-Paul for a cheese platter to take away. The Organic Charcuteries of Charlevoix, whose products we serve at Carrera Café. The Saint-Jean-Port-Joli market if you pass through the south shore. Each stop enriches the arrival.
THE ARRIVAL: CARRERA CAFÉ AS THE CONCLUSION
When you finally arrive at Petit Champlain, a well-served espresso at Carrera Café gives the whole day its highlight. It’s the checkered flag at the end of a great stage.
CARRERA CAFÉ — OLD QUEBEC
In the heart of Petit-Champlain, Carrera Café brings together a passion for specialty coffee and car culture. A must-stop on every visit.
