✦ The Perfect Brunch
Brunch in Quebec City
Brunch in Quebec City is an institution. In a city that loves good food and taking its time, it's the most relaxed and delicious meal of the week. And at Carrera Café, we've taken it seriously.
Brunch culture
Quebec City takes its time
Quebec City has developed a real brunch culture. Italian cafés, neo-Quebec diners, French patisseries. The offering is vast and the quality is generally excellent.
The weekend brunch
On Saturday and Sunday mornings, Quebec City's cafés and restaurants fill up from 9 am. Brunch has become a true social ritual. People go as couples, with family, with friends. They stay a long time. They come back every week.
Italian influence
Carrera Café brings an Italian dimension to Quebec brunch. Perfect espresso, micro-foamed whole milk, quality local products. The marriage between the barista's know-how and local producers creates a brunch that is uniquely ours.
Coffee at brunch
The pivot of everything
At Carrera Café, coffee is not just another drink. It is the common thread of brunch. From espresso to iced latte, each cup is an act of precision.
The morning latte
Double espresso, micro-foamed whole milk, cloud of foam. The morning latte is our absolute classic. Served in a large, thick-walled glass. The first sip determines the mood of the day.
Flat white and noisette
For those who want an intense coffee with just enough milk. The Australian flat white and the French noisette are two different expressions of the same philosophy: the purity of coffee above all else.
Slow filter coffee
For filter coffee lovers, we offer a meticulous slow drip. Selected beans, fresh grind, water at controlled temperature. A contemplative coffee, for brunches that last.
Iced latte
Our summer best-seller. Espresso poured over ice, cold whole milk, or a variant with artisanal syrup. Carrera Café's iced latte has earned its own reputation in Quebec City. Those who have tasted it come back.
Brunch producers
The plate tells the story of the terroir
Every element of our brunch tells a producer's story. Cured meats, cheeses, bread, jams: everything comes from the Quebec City region.
Carrera's three producers
Organic Charlevoix cured meats for refined meats. Quebec cheeses for seasonal soft cheeses. Boulangerie Borderon et Fils for breads and pastries. Three addresses, three commitments, one philosophy: the best of Quebec's terroir on every plate.
The barista's tip
“For a perfect brunch here: arrive before 10 am on weekends to get a table on the terrace. Order your latte at the same time as your platter. Stay as long as you like.”
The signature brunch
The perfect combination
Our selection of must-have brunches at Carrera Café. The result of years of experimentation and feedback from our customers.
Pit Stop Platter + Latte
Pit Stop cured meats and cheeses platter + double shot latte. The most frequent combination in our weekend orders. The pairing of creamy cheese and round latte is perfect. Terrace included if the weather permits.
Toast + Filter Coffee
Borderon ricotta-honey toast + slow filter coffee. For those who want something lighter and more contemplative. The slow filter coffee is savored in small sips, the toast is eaten unhurriedly. A quality brunch, in a minor key.
On the podium
The three must-haves of Carrera brunch
Three essential choices for brunch at Carrera Café.
✦ Carrera brunch podium
Charlevoix cured meats, local cheeses, Borderon bread. The perfect starter for a brunch that begins well and ends better.
Double espresso, whole milk, dense foam. The morning coffee that puts everyone in a good mood. Our best-seller since opening.
View of Rue du Petit-Champlain, morning light, background noise of the city waking up. The best table in Quebec City on Saturday morning.
Brunch by season
The menu changes with the market
Our brunch menu evolves with the seasons. What you find on our table in July will not be the same as in November. That's intentional.
Terrace brunch
Iced latte, seasonal platter with Île d'Orléans strawberries, Borderon bread with fresh herbs. Summer brunch is lively, colorful, and delightful. The terrace is at its best.
Seasonal brunch
Spiced latte, aged autumn cheese, apple jam, nut bread. Autumn is our favorite season for brunch. The flavors are deep, the colors warm.
Winter brunch
Artisanal hot chocolate, winter charcuterie platter, toasted country bread. Winter brunch indoors, foggy window overlooking Rue du Petit-Champlain. A warm cocoon in the middle of the cold.
Awakening brunch
Pure espresso, asparagus and ricotta toast, first seasonal fruits. When the terrace reopens in April, the first spring brunch tastes of freedom. Everyone comes out.
