The 24 Hours of Le Mans

Twenty-four hours. A full day, non-stop, over 13.626 kilometers. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is not a race. It is a test of character.

The challenge above all others

Since 1923, the 24 Hours of Le Mans have brought together the best drivers and the best machines in the world on the Circuit de la Sarthe. Ferrari, Porsche, Audi, Toyota: the biggest car brands have made this race their ultimate battlefield. There must be three drivers per car. They take turns, two hours each, while their co-drivers try to sleep. But sleep is rare, and coffee never stops.

Coffee: the fuel of the race

In the Le Mans garages, coffee flows continuously. This is not trivial: it is a physiological necessity. Mechanics work in 12-hour shifts, engineers analyze data continuously, drivers off the track stay alert to take the wheel again within 20 minutes. Finding the perfect rhythm to last 24 hours without faltering: this is where coffee plays its role.

Legends and their coffee

Jacky Ickx: 6 wins at Le Mans. During his 1969 victory, he drank more coffee in 24 hours than in a normal week.

Derek Bell: 5 wins. His pre-race ritual inevitably included a strong coffee, "to hook the brain to the wheel."

Endurance, in a cup as on the track

At Carrera Café, our blends are designed for daily endurance. Not just a harsh wake-up call, but a faithful companion for your long hours of focus, creativity, and effort. The same philosophy as Le Mans: to go the distance, with style.
