Postcard winter

Few cities in the world turn winter into a spectacle like Quebec. Petit-Champlain under the snow is another dimension. And the Carrera Café is the ideal headquarters.

  • The snow-covered alleys. Petit-Champlain Street under 30 cm of snow is one of the most photographed images of Quebec. Come early in the morning to see it untouched.
  • The Quebec Carnival. From mid-January to February, the neighborhood comes alive with ice sculptures and parades. The Carrera Café becomes a warm refuge between activities.
  • The illuminated Casse-Cou staircase. In winter, strings of lights transform this historic staircase into a magical alley. The descent is worth the detour.
  • Mulled wine after skating. Old Port or Plains skating rink, return to Carrera Café with a spiced mulled wine. The perfect circuit.
  • Guaranteed intimate atmosphere. Winter filters the crowds. Available tables, relaxed service, cozy atmosphere. Carrera Café at its best for lingering.
The ideal winter pit stop

After a walk in snowy Old Quebec, push open the door of Carrera Café. Mulled wine, Charlevoix charcuterie board, soft lights. The best refreshment stop on the winter circuit.

Grand Prix season

Summer in Quebec is peak season. Petit-Champlain fills with life, the Carrera Café terrace opens onto the street, and every afternoon feels like race day.

  • The open terrace. Wooden tables, parasols, Petit-Champlain street as a backdrop. Iced latte in hand, life is beautiful. The terrace opens from May depending on the weather.
  • The Summer Festival. July turns Quebec into a global music stage. Before or after concerts, Carrera Café is the neighborhood’s natural stop.
  • The alleys in bloom. Summer, the neighborhood is covered with hanging flowers and flowered balconies. The perfect setting for a slowly enjoyed coffee, in the shade.
  • Apéro on the terrace. Focaccia, a glass of white wine or Spritz, sun low over the rooftops of Old Quebec. Summer apéro in pole position mode.
  • Formula 1 evenings. Montreal Grand Prix in June, screens at Carrera Café, paddock atmosphere. Summer and racing, the winning duo.
Summer in paddle mode

Arrive early in the morning in summer to enjoy the calm before the crowds. Cappuccino on the terrace, Borderon croissant, streets still empty. Then explore the neighborhood before the tourists wake up.

The menu changes with the thermometer

Here, the season dictates the cup. Four iconic drinks, two per season, so every visit is different and memorable.

HOT
Spiced hazelnut latte
Espresso, hazelnut syrup, cinnamon, and hot foamed milk. The companion of winter afternoons, to sip slowly facing snowy alleys.
WINTER
FRESH
Carrera Spritz
Prosecco, Aperol, sparkling water, orange slice. The quintessential Italian aperitif, served on ice on the terrace. The perfect afternoon kick-off.
