CHARLEVOIX BY CAR

April 2026 · 6 min read · Carrera Café · All seasons

Some roads change a Sunday. Route 138 toward Charlevoix is one of them. Between Quebec and Baie-Saint-Paul, the river widens, cliffs plunge, and the morning mist covers the coves like a movie set.

ROUTE 138: ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL IN QUEBEC

Leave Old Quebec via Route 138 East. The first kilometers are still urban, then Beaupré arrives, along with the mountain descending toward the river. In Baie-Saint-Paul, take a break. The village deserves more than a stop: galleries, a market, and the coffee to go with it.

CHARLEVOIX, A TERRITORY OF EXCELLENCE

The region produces some of Quebec’s best artisanal cheeses and charcuterie. The Organic Charcuterie from Charlevoix that we serve at Carrera Café comes from there. Traveling through the region, you understand why the terroir produces this: the air, the light, the care of the producers.

THE RETURN: PETIT-CHAMPLAIN AS THE FINALE

Every getaway deserves a great ending. Carrera Café, on the way back from Charlevoix, is exactly that. A well-pulled espresso, the terrace facing the river, and the feeling of having made the most of your day.

CARRERA CAFÉ — OLD QUEBEC

In the heart of Petit-Champlain, Carrera Café brings together a passion for specialty coffee and car culture. A must-stop on every visit.
